Not sure how you drew the line from the commentary to the actual grade. Look at ParentVue to see grades on classwork, homework, and tests.

I don't think so. Below please find the entire legend. No points anywhere.

CR – Credits Earned
ABS – Absences
MP1
MP2
A – Use of Class Time
B – Responsibility/Initiative
C – Completion of Homework
D – Cooperation/Respect
E – Effort
F – Call for Conference
! – Surpasses Expectations
# – Meets Expectations
^ – Approaching Expectations
N – Needs Improvement

This is the PP you quoted. I am not talking about the legend. If you want to see actual scores and grades, then log in to Parentvue to review your kid’s scores for work and tests (formative and summative). That is where you will find the scores that determine the grades for the quarter. The legend is supplementary commentary and has nothing to do with those scores. If this doesn’t explain it to you, then I don’t know what to tell you.

I'd tell them they get an "N" for reading comprehension, if not an "F" to confer about their lack of reading comprehension.

Equity is about getting the underprivileged all the supports and educational opportunities they need to learn the three Rs. FFS. I am not an ape. I have two sn kids and fight for them every semester but not for this list of things. For the ability to read, write, do math and think like a scientist. Insane. (on the upside my kids are doing better this year than ever before so the great team at current schools are amazing. I want to thank the teachers, the co-teachers, the IEP team (especially AP of SN) and the case carrier. With you all, my kid's grades wouldn't have improved every semester and for you, I am grateful.)

A – Use of Class Time
B – Responsibility/Initiative
C – Completion of Homework
D – Cooperation/Respect
E – Effort
F – Call for Conference

So to get an F, one must not use class time, take no initiative, no complete homework, show no respect or effort. Those are CATEGORICAL variables. Grades are linear! This is a very basic statistical concept. Based on the above, you could have a A, B, C, D and still statistically make a 90% or 80% in a class. Illogical.

OP, are your kids on the diploma track? If not, is it possible that the reports cards are meant to measure their effort because it is noted that they will not be able to complete the material for a diploma? I am asking because you mentioned that you are fighting for your kids to get services to be able to read and write and do math, which makes it sounds like they more severely impacted.
