Hopefully. Then he can do more things that he'll get sued over, and have to retract.

Foreign students are full pay and help support universities while American students often receive financial assistance. Foreign students aren't taking spots, they are actually making spots for American students.

There's room for both.

Wrong, there are more than quadruple full pay Americans seeking entry , no need to allow these people when the acceptance rate and full pay is so high. America first.

Provide evidence for your claim.

Admittance into top colleges is a zero sum game. Every slot taken by a foreign student is one that could have gone to a US citizen.

That has nothing to do with the government action described in this thread nor is it the reason for revoking student visas in the first place. But thanks for stopping by to share your opinion.

It also assumes that American universities are for American citizens only. Does that mean that Americans have to stop going to Oxford and cambridge? So dumb

Exporting education is stupid though. Don't train your competition. Why do they want us to compete with them if it isn't a zero sum game. Oh we're supposed to bring them here then compete with them.

No one wants to take an engineering course with a bunch of foreigners, they do not contribute to the educational experience. If I wanted to take a course where ethnicity was import I would take a foreign language or something. Why do they make engineers and computer scientists train with foreigners. What about tech has anything to do with tech. All the Indian and Chinese grad students cliqued with each other and wouldn't say two words to anyone else.

WTF? Many engineering schools would have to close down if they didn't have international students. It might blow your mind, but many graduate engineering schools are FREE for ANY student who applies because they are subsidized by business. Guess what? Those businesses WANT the best students they can find. Those students might not be from the US. When you can select the best talent from the whole world you are going to be the best business. This is why half of all new businesses in the US are started by people who were not born here. Look at who is in charge at many of these companies.

People want to take an engineering course with anyone who can compete. If the best engineering schools are overseas you will see Americans going overseas to those schools. The best research labs will follow. Then we will really be "great".

Great when can we shut them down? These businesses don't want us that's for sure. The engineering degrees they confer to us are next to worthless.

Too late now. The damage has been done.

Soft diplomacy! Many stay and contribute, pay taxes, innovate (Elon is one of them for whatever that is worth). Others go back home, but with a mindset more open to American values and ideas. And they contribute billions to the economy while they are here. And ultimately, this system has attracted the very best minds and researchers from all over the world to the US - a system that is right now being actively destroyed on multiple fronts (visa threats, radical cuts in grant funding etc.). America first down the drain?

Since we run a tax deficit more people paying taxes just means more people consuming services. Taking grants to do research etc. Are they really open minded. At least one of the 911 terrorists was on a student Visa others were on business visas. Stop and think where we would be at as a country if we didn't have that around our neck eg dollars spent on war and security concerns.

That is a real bad thing. I'd trade several Elon's to make that have not happened.

We defunded our state universities decades ago and now they are funded by research grants (which we just cut) and full pay international students. Less spots for American students if these full-pay students go away. Outside of the top 25 universities, there are not enough full pay American students to take the spots of these international students. Lots of small colleges will close lots of degree programs will close as the state universities shrink and cut their budgets.

It would take 100 years to process all these lawsuits. We don't have time. He needs to be impeached immediately.

George Bush was already looking for any pretext to start those wars. He used an attack from Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia as an excuse to invade unrelated Iraq.

The attack itself was perpetuated by a US-funded groups. Visas aren't the problem here.

This is moronic. If you think every single person in the US is a net drain because of "tax deficit" , then why not just kill everyone?

Money spent on the military and subsidized farmers and Elon Musk isn't "consumed" by a working immigrant.

Taking grants to do research is value creation.

University education is a big and important export for the US. Many (most?) of the international students don't go to selective schools. And whatever college/univ they are at, they contribute to the leaning environment. Maybe you've never met an international person, but they bring different knowledge and perspective to all sorts of subject. If you don't understand that, I suspect you don't know what being "educated" actually entails.

We need foreign engineers because Americans like the one above are too stupid to engineer.

You're free to make your own college instead of waiting for a DEI handout for low talent US citizens.

Why do you want to pay full price to send your kid to a liberal indoctrination center? Make America Great Again.
