I'm currently looking at a 15 minute bike each way for a Prek3 that feels like a lottery win for us. I'm pretty excited about the school and prepared to be there for at least six years at which point we will need to think seriously about feeder patterns. That said, I'm eyeing the school I put next on my list that is half the commute and kind of kicking myself. |
One of my priorities is that my kids can get to their school in their own two feet, either walking or on bike.
For elementary, we lotteried into a better school that is still within that range (a 20 minute bike ride or 30 minute walk). For middle school, our kid is out of the neighorhood but can metro there on his own. We still drive it it's raining, but I do think it enhances all of our lives to be able to get there without one. |
