What is the end game here? Will Trump et al last until 2028?

This is what people don’t understand. Even if a maga is very directly impacted by a Trump policy, there is too much noise for them. The news they have been getting for years has told them this is sleepy joe’s fault or someone else’s. They won’t draw the line from Trump to their situation. I still remember thinking what a wonderful thing the internet was in the 90s. But it has brought us to where we are now.

this is true.....but deep down they are realizing some things. Probably very uncomfortable for them which makes this argue more.

His approval ratings will have to get into the low 30s for the GOP to turn on him. Hopefully it won’t be too late by then.

I ask a broader question in terms of the "end game"

It is clear this administration adheres to a white nationalist policy. It is clear they want to end scientific research. It is clear they want to eradicate healthcare and vaccines and anything else that helps human beings stay healthy. It is clear they don't care about clean air or water or anything having to do with the environment.

So what is the end game?

We have an unhealthy planet, a dying population and a lot of really rich people who are somewhat insulated from all of it.

Then what?

But in the end they won’t be insulated from it. They are morons.

I did hear rumours that the Vance/Gabbard/Hegseth/Bondi meeting that was supposed to have been held at the Observatory last night was not about Epstein, but rather an early 25th amendment meeting. Apparently the discombobulated Trump we see is only the tip of the trumpian sized dementia.

They better hurry up. Trump appears to be even further along in his mental decline than Biden was at 79. Scary stuff. Come hell or high water, we must make sure Trump is the last 80 year old president.

The only solution is for enough people to get angry enough that a few centrist GOP in the House and senate side with the Dems to end it.

He doesn’t. If he tries to turn them loose on the populous he won’t have many of them at all.

Agreed, but his age is the least egregious thing about him. We need to do better at providing for and educating our citizens.

Turn them loose on the populous, haha. Sounds like Romania 1989 2.0. Bring it on.

If Biden can survive to the end of a four year term into his early 80s, there is no reason to believe Trump isn't likely to do the same. Once this madness is over, let's all come together as a country and promise to never, ever go down the path of electing 80 year old presidents again. It was a very stupid experiment that clearly doesn't work!

This almost has nothing to do with trump. There won't be much of a country left in 2028 and it is a 50-50 shot that midterms in 2026 will even happen or mean anything. Seth Abrahmson makes a good point...Speak Johnson can simply determine that blue state gerrymandered election winners won't be seated (but red state gerrymandered election winners will) - then what?

You're a clueless MAGA sized brain little chicken turd. Trump is doing the same thing he did his first term which is making Dem successes in elections through 2028 very likely. You can tremble in your boots and remain in the sanctuary of your mom's basement during future Election Days but don't expect us normal people to join you.

I guess you are not understanding the lengths the GOP is and will go through to maintain their power.

Stop being a little pansy and start believing in your country and fellow Americans. Of course our political parties wish to remain in control but that isn't how it works.

many of my fellow Americans consider me to be less than human. What is your point?

He already deployed the military in Los Angeles and it received minimal to no pushback.

I have no leg to stand on to call you "less than human" but if you're too scared to stand up to our awful political parties, you are less than American.
