A challenge for larger cars includes single lane roads that go in both directions. There are occasional pullouts where you park to allow the farmer's tractor or other car to proceed in the other direction. Sometimes you might have to reverse some way back to these pullouts. If you have stone walls or hedgerows or the side of the road is soft/muddy, this is more challenging. This is a good reason to go smaller.
We used the car's GPS when the Waze signal was weak. The GPS loved directing us to these narrow lanes to save us a couple of minutes or miles. Acquire a good paper map as well to override silly suggestions by the GPS. |
