Dear Lord, OP,

You really must stop taking yourself so seriously.

The use of "washroom" makes me think she's Canadian

All Anglos have heard of the little girls' room: whether you're from the UK, US, Canada, Australia or NZ.

No, OP is a hyper rigid person with just can't make her brain flexible enough to see past literal meanings. (Could have some autistic tendencies, there, but even my autistic husband and son wouldn't blink if someone told them to use the little boys room).

I read that in a Vincent Price or The Great Gildersleeve voice.

Or George Sanders?

OP here. Busted. I am Canadian. I love all of your reactions it felt infantilizing, and he was a creepy older man who looked like he drinks a lot. He wasn’t there for introductions, and I think he thought that I was one of the students.

Whatever, I am over it. Happy Wednesday night!

He was joking. Try and lighten up a bit. I don't know why this offended you so much. You also probably made him feel bad for just trying to joke with you.

What's a little girly room? I've never heard this phrase before.

Your explanation doesn't make sense. You're reading WAY WAY too much into this guy's appearance and your perception of his attitude. Try not to be trigger-happy with your ultra-feminist assumptions next time.

Easy to tell you are a very bigoted and judgmental person.

It is an annoying phrase, but then so is "washroom." It's either bathroom or restroom.

I was looking for the washroom and one city manager, maybe 60 (I am 52 but look young for my age), asked me if I was looking for the “little girly” room. I politely told him that I was looking for the women’s washroom. WTF He quickly backtracked. Just needed a place to vent.

Exactly how grown is your ass and why comment on it here? So strange. Are you sure you are a professor because you sound more like a street rat.
