Paris or London trip?

As much as I love love love London, it has to be Paris. I just got back. Had the most amazing meal at Cafe D'Angel near the Arc de Triomphe. It was so good I almost cried.

Paris, for sure. I am not a big fan of London (lived there for a year), but I am always happy to go to Paris...

I would not go to both! It will dilute the trip. I've been to paris 4 times in my life and i think it gets better with every trip. Paris is harder to acclimate to because of the culture and language differences. Because your husband hasn't been to paris before I would think london would be better.

Do the tate musuem and that carousel thinkee in the thames! food was great although everything was super expensive.

Agree - London is super easy to navigate, no language barriers, shorter flight, etc. Plus, I think English history is more interesting. I loved turning the corner and seeing the Tower of London right there or taking the Underground to Picadilly Square, etc.
We stayed at the Thistle which had a great deal going on at the time which included breakfast (don't get the English breakfast unless you enjoy items such as stewed tomatoes for breakfast). Good location, clean, no complaints.

I disagree with PP about London having good food. Definitely go to Paris if you desire good food (and wine). I'm not a food-snob, but the English really don't cook very well (and it's pricey).

FWIW I went when I was 32 weeks pregnant and walked A TON. Had no problems with the pregnancy (although I was athletic to begin with so walking a lot wasn't a big deal for me).

London will be gray and stodgy. Paris will be gray and romantic. Pick your poison.

Both sound wonderful. Enjoy whereever you go!

As for sour personalities, I think both the English and French are similar in that they have a good sense of humor but tend to be more reserved than Americans.

Agree, completely. Food inLondon has been good for decades--people who denigrate it just don't know the little treasures. Indian food has been the best outside of india for decades. Cod and Chips completely awesome. Lebanese Shawarma, divine. Great lager. People are reserved; humor is dry.

France is just completely perfect and beautiful. I've even heard that lately there is less smoking. And anti-perspirant on public transport is now a thing. In your last trimester sometimes the morning sickness comes roaring back---one whiff of Gauloise mixed with sweaty chévre tainted armpit and you could hurl a stream down the aisle of the TGV. At 100 mph, no less!

Sorry. France would be awesome, too.
