Cable/internet and mobile can be separate. Are you getting a bundle with xfinity? |
| We spend about $100 for Verizon High speed cable, and maybe another $100 for YouTube TV - much better than Verizon DVRs or TiVO. |
| We pay $55 for just Internet with Xfinity and don't have cable: I juggle various subscription free trial and "are you sure you want to cancel?" really cheap deals for $3/mo. Only one you cannot do this with is Netflix. |
We use to do that. We tried that with Xfinity and they said they would give $25 off if we moved our phones over. So we got high speed internet and YouTube TV. Ends up being 1/2 the price of cable. |
It really depends on what you watch. Our bill was $300 something a month when we pulled the plug. That was for internet and cable with premium packages(not including movies rentals). Ended up with sling tv gold(added blue for sports), Netflix, Apple TV, PBS(app suck), Hulu, Amazon prime with Max(showtime, etc), paramount plus and peacock(sucked) with high speed internet for about $140ish a month. Some of those over lap so we got YouTube tv and stopped sling, peacock, PBS. |

We pay $90/mo for FIOS 1GB. Best value ever! Had Xfinity for years. Thing about cable is the advertised speeds are only down not up. FIOS is both up and down. Makes a huge difference when spouse and kid and me all on video calls (both work from home). My Xfinity used to drop randomly middle of day and then come back. Same with my neighbors.
Also pay another $140/mo for cable, including $36/mo for 4 boxes. I wish there was a way around that. Not sure about value for the cable but I love my FIOS internet. |
| Streaming this week's PBS programs using the PBS app on an AppleTV is free. No subscription cost. If one wants to have access to the whole archive of older PBS episodes, one needs to join one's PBS affiliate (costs for this can vary from one PBS station to another). |
