NP. Reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

What exactly should he take care of? He already has a real ID. It's just vertical not horizontal. You want him to go change the system of how IDs are produced in DC??

If it’s fine then there’s nothing to complain about. Why exactly are you complaining?

The ID itself is fine. What’s not fine is the TSA potentially creating a problem by not recognizing that it is a legitimate Real ID.

Ok then send your kid to the DMV to make sure it’s fine, because 2 people telling you it’s not doesn’t sound fine, or send your kid his passport. He’s old enough to keep track of these things himself.

Not OP just someone who can read.

How is he supposed to go to the DMV when he’s in a different state?

Thank you. He is across the country at college so can't just hop into the DC DMV. He won't fly again until after May 7.

To the VA person I looked and only 59% of Virignia has REAL ID. DC is at 99%. DC's standard issue is a REAL ID unless you don't have a SS#.

He will be fine. It’s a Real ID. He just ran into 2 idiots in TSA. They may have to get a supervisor but they will let him through

If it is a Real ID (it sounds like it is) and it is valid (it sounds like it is) then the TSA agent is in the wrong.

I have a 23 year old who still has their vertical license and it doesn't expire until 2027.
