FOR THE 40 mile radius of the DMV, I think this is the current list of clubs in 2025-2026 ECNL and GA for both tiers in each:
ECNL Arlington (VA) Bethesda (MD) Fairfax VA Union (VA) VDA (VA) GA-Tier 1 (VA) Alexandria (VA) Loudoun (VA) McLean (VA) NVA (VA) SYC (VA) TSJFC (VA) VRSC (VA) ECNL-RL (VA/DC/MD) Arlington 2 (VA) BRYC (VA) DCSC (DC) GRFC (VA) LMVSC (VA) Maryland United (MD) PWSI (VA) Stafford (VA) Valor (VA) Vienna (VA) VSA (VA) GA-Aspire Alexandria 2 (VA) Loudoun 2 (VA) McLean 2 (VA) Potomac 1 (MD) PPA 1 (DC) SYC 2 (VA) VRSC 2 (VA) |
| Maryland United has ECNL and ECRL |
| MYS did not take bunch of GA and other ECNL players in their tryouts in favor of their own RL players. POLITIKS. They love those lower table spots in favor of "development" and prioritizing loyalty over quality. |
| Great list. Believe Herndon and Villareal will have RL teams next year. |
What does that have to do with anything? |

| still missing maryland united in ECNL |
| missing MD champ, Baltimore is about 40 miles from DC. Might as well add those teams too |
Add pipeline. But those two are some ECNL teams that place in Towson. So nobody talks about them.
|
| MD united plays in PG and Ann Arundel County so like the DMV genius |
Isn't GA-A #2 really the Loudoun #3 team? First team: NVA (GA) Second team: Loudoun (GA) Third team: Loudoun (GA-A) |
Pipeline girls are on life support but boys are still quite competitive for an ECNL setup |

UPDATED again by non-OP: Alphabetical list of all the known ECNL and GA (Tier 1 and 2) teams in a 40-mile radius from the DMV in 2025-2026. Baltimore and north, Richmond and South, and Charlottesville are excluded as likely different markets for most players.
ECNL 1. Arlington (VA) 2. Bethesda (MD) 3. Fairfax VA Union (VA) 4. Maryland United (MD) 5. VDA (VA) GA-Tier 1 1. Alexandria (VA) 2. Loudoun 2 (VA) 3. McLean (VA) 4. NVA - Loudon 1 (VA) 5. SYC (VA) 6. TSJFC (VA) 7. VRSC (VA) ECNL-RL 1. Arlington 2 (VA) 2. Bethesda 2 (MD) 3. BRYC (VA) 4. DCSC (DC) 5. GRFC (VA) 6. Herndon (VA) 7. LMVSC (VA) 8. Maryland United (MD) 9. PWSI (VA) 10. Stafford (VA) 11. Valor (VA) 12. Vienna (VA) 13. Villareal (VA) 14. VSA (VA) GA-Aspire 1. Alexandria 2 (VA) 2. Loudoun 3 (VA) 3. McLean 2 (VA) 4. Potomac 1 (MD) 5. PPA 1 (DC) 6. SYC 2 (VA) 7. VRSC 2 (VA) After updating OP's list, it dawned on me that responsibility for the constant complaints on this board about rosters getting watered down falls mostly on the RL and some on Aspire. 21 teams, with 14 of them in the ECNL-R? That is about 400 girls per age group. With that scope, ECNL/GA has rapidly become a much wider pyramid than it was 2 to 3 years ago. And with the comparatively more entrenched nature of the ECNL rosters, I assume GA stands to pluck a disproportionate share of “new” players that float up to the top of the second-tier teams next year. It will be interesting to see it play out. |
