That’s where we stayed with our teen. He had his own space, we could walk to several things and price was good.

Architectural boat trip is great!
Lou Malnati's is incredibly overrated. Not worth whatever wait time they have.

The Intercontinental Chicago has a nice indoor pool but rooms are tiny. DH’s family is in Chicago and Lou Malnatis is their go-to for pizza.

I used to travel to Chicago fairly regularly for work and would always stay at the Palmer House or the Holiday Inn by the Merchandise Mart. Both are great.

Holiday Inn has a large pool. And it's really reasonably priced - in the $200/night range in the summer, cheaper in the off season.

Palmer House rooms are tiny and tired--it's only the lobby that is really nice.

The rooms at the Silversmith are huge. I also really love the Kimpton Gray.
