| Way better social scene at Vandy. NW attracts students who prefer quieter social life and there is a significant athlete/nonathlete divide. |

What are you talking about? You are very wrong. |
That person doesn't know what they are talking about. |
The campus looks like a casting call for a re-boot of “The Big Bang Theory.” |

Somebody has a vendetta against Northwestern.
Northwestern's campus is in a gorgeous setting on the shores of Lake Michigan in the upscale community of Evanston with easy access to Chicago. There is little to no athlete/non-athlete divide at Northwestern. Guys are fine & straight, but gay is okay as well. Vanderbilt has nicer year round weather and Nashville is a really nice city. Beautiful campus, although the hospital in the middle of Vandy's campus is weird and disruptive. Both are great universities, however Northwestern is more academic. Working out in the gym at Northwestern overlooking Lake Michigan is really nice. Two outstanding options; no wrong choice. Congratulations ! |
| Northwestern >>>>>>>>>> |
| Both are great but I prefer Chicago! |
| Vandy hands down weather, location and social life. |
+100 We toured because my DC really loved Michigan and I had the 1990s version of Big10 Northwestern in my head. WTF. It was SO nerdy and the kids were overwhelmingly quirky. They also all looked miserable. 100% visit and see for yourself. My smart, social, sporty DC would pick Vanderbilt all the way. |
This is actually a good thing. Have you spent any time in both of the cities recently? Atlanta is gross with a really high crime rate. Nashville is a blast six days a week and designed for fun and entertainment. Plus all the national and international companies are opening outpost there, following the 20 and 30 some things who flocked there over the past 10 years. With the caveat that Atlanta remains THE destination for young professional and professional-adjacent Black people. |
| Athletic divide poster back. That’s what I hear from my child ‘s friends who are currently athletes. They claim normal admits are a bunch of nerds that aren’t social. YMMV. |
