Do we expect summer airfares to drop?

Went from $750 to $500. Also, the flight was purchased a week out from departure, which is usually when airfares are more expensive.

Yes, took a look earlier this week at fares to London in August. Can get nonstop in basic economy from Dulles on BA for $620/person. I think international demand taking a huge hit, domestic probably will also a bit, but less so

This. People are not changing their travel plans.

Tourists from countries which have issued a travel warning to the US, including many European countries, are definitely not traveling to the US as much. I heard as much as a 25% drop on inbound flights. But that only impacts your return flight, potentially. If you want to fly to an international tourist destination, that destination is going to be packed, because any recession from the global trade war will probably not have hit by this summer.

Please do not go to Rome during Jubilee year.

What? If they aren't flying in, they're not flying out.

It's hard to say OP but prob more dependent on where you are going.

I bet some stuff will drop but to what extent is hard to say. It's so $$$ now dropping a little is kinda still $$!

But yes, as we roll forward and Econ will worsen, prices will drop but by then not sure you want to travel either?

Remember that market is exactly that - Econ 101- rules will always be applicable so. Body is dropping prices till they must. Think of what you would do. Who is going to just drop prices before they have to?

DP. Omg just because they aren't flying in doesn't mean you aren't! Flights don't know where you live you idiot! If nobody visits from Paris but you do, you're coming back right? This the fares returning will in fact be lower because only Americans are flying in to US. Flights are always priced each way, which is why a hack is to buy separately 1 way tix. RT isn't always less. You don't travel much do you?

New poster here. Never heard of one way being cheaper pp. and we’ve been traveling internally each year at least for 20 years. In fact it’s the opposite.

Yes definitely not true for international flights. 2 one ways are almost always much more expensive than a roundtrip. I would discount what that PP said just because of their tone and style - came off unhinged.
