What's the best car to buy for a new driver right now?

Have you been under a rock? Cars after 2010 have a lot more safety features than abs and power assist braking.

Newer cars self drive so even the most basic of cars have self braking, collision avoidance, lane guidance etc. The cars use cameras.

If my car feels I will hit something it starts braking before I do and starts activating a system to prepare for a collision. It activates when deer and small kids jump out onto the road.

Turn those features off. They cause more accidents than they prevent. Almost like the body shop industry and insurance corporations are working together to increase traffic accidents.

Collission avoidance only cause more accidents if you are a terrible driver who depends on them to drive while you text.

I'm not a fan of lane keeping, as if you don't use the blinker it can cause you to overcorrect, but agan, that's user error.

They are so annoying. I have yet to figure out how to turn them off.

You two must be among the morons who turn off the automatic safety lights and run their cars (often white, light or dark gray cars) dark on cloudy, rainy and snowy days - why??????????

This may surprise people but the Chevy Trailblazer and Trax are the two best selling brand new cars for teen drivers.

tons of safety features, parental controls, small engine, good MPG and cheap price.

For 24K you get a full warranty new car.

I love Hondas and Toyotas to Death but a used Camry or Acord that is a few years with 40K to 50K moles and and out of warranty with less safety features are 24K

they have gotten too expensive for young drivers even in the used car market unless old and beat up

If you want all the features a trailblazer is going to be close to 35k.

All three have great choices for a compact SUV at around $30-35k. I would choose a Honda CRV or HRV for excellent visibility but you can’t go wrong with any of them. Practice parking your impala. If you can park it you can also park a small SUV.
