90% or the suits at Macys now are the “technical” modified athleisure material. They look cheap.

Macy’s is good if he doesn’t wear a suit often. Just make sure to have the pieces tailored. I’m not sure if Macy’s does that in house. If he needs to wear suits more often, I’d look into Brooks Brothers - my husband wears a suit almost daily and it’s his go-to. They hold up better than Macy’s suits. He’s also tried Suit Supply and Indochino but still prefers Brooks Bros.

And no I would not choose a “skinny”/slim fit suit for a man in his mid 50s. Go for a classic fit. Not too relaxed if hes in good shape - that’s for overweight men honestly, and tall guys who are somewhat bigger can pull it off too but on everyone else it makes them look like a kid wearing dad’s suit to his first school dance.

Joe A Banks or Macys. Brooks Bros is too $$ for us right now.

Brooks Brothers quality is extremely diminished, I’d avoid.

Macys for the win! Tommy Hilfiger suit for $200. Thanks, hivemind.

Bonobos for sure. Its all my husband wears, and they are very reasonable, especially if you use their 20% new customer code.
