How much do you share about your family on social media?

I post maybe once a year, usually includes my kids. I don’t think any of my friends are reposting these images publicly so not super concerned about the deepfakes at this point.

Not much.

I post a new pic (either whole family or just the kids together) maybe once a year or two (with faces).

Not really into social media.

My social media account is private and my online friends are family members and real friends, so I feel comfortable sharing some kid pictures. I try to avoid anything that would come off as bragging, though. Some of my older family members (like aunts or uncles I have otherwise lost touch with) really love seeing kid pictures here and there.

This.

I have a couple friends that hardly ever post any pictures of there kids and when they do, they put smiling face over there kids face and never post there name. Then on the other end of spectrum I have some that post constantly about everything including names, where there kids go to school, sports teams and positions, and pictures including in sleep atire which is just underwear or a pull-up. I think both ends are a little extreme. I'd say I fall somewhere in between.

I post nothing about my kids. If you want to have a way for family to see photos, just make a new instagram acct set to private and only let select family follow the acct. Only those followers will be able to see it. Thats what my sister does.

Literally zero. I am the face of my business, and I hire models and actors to "play my family" for photoshoots and social media. I don't actually say this is my family but I don't correct people who assume.

The photoshoots happen when my kid is in school anyway. And I'm a single mom, so maybe I'm extra protective.

We have family abroad so I feel it’s necessary. It’s kind of weird not to post anything because that’s the whole point of social media. You all are too paranoid.. live a little.

I used to post things and about 5 years or so I stopped posting on social media and took all of our photos and names off. In the last two years I opened up Facebook again because I realized I was missing PTA info but have no photos, identifying info like places or birthdays or my real name and certainly and not posting my kids photos.

But you’re still giving these companies access to your kids data. Do you trust these massive companies to do the right thing with your data? Images that your kids don’t have the ability to consent to you providing?? These companies are controlled by the likes of Zuckerberg and Musk!

You’re naive.
