If you wanted to control what uses were on other properties, why didn't you buy them? |
2-bedrooms in FCC are like $4000 a month. These buildings are not full of low income people. They have some trashy rich people though. |
You ever hear the saying "you're not IN traffic, you ARE traffic?" What you're saying is as stupid as claiming you're not traffic because you've got a new car. |
In support of OP, we left Falls Church this year after about 15 years there due to increased population density and the problems that came with it. And we were not the first on our block to do so. We got sick of the traffic and constant construction causing congestion on 7 and Haycock, amongst other things. Didn’t get annoyed by litter but don’t doubt it is now an issue. |
Haven't seen a problem with litter, but the intersection of Washington & Broad has gone from bad to impossible with the new Whole Foods opening on the corner. |
OP I thought you were going to tell us you moved to Tulum in Mexico. |
You outed yourself with this line. Lower income people do not generate any more trash than higher income people. In fact, probably less, because they consume less. |
This is the dumbest post I've seen in a while. "... maintain roadside litter", "ALWAYS PERRECTLY CLEAN"...? So, there was not even a spec of dust 10 years ago? Wow? Where did you live in Falls Church City? Were you blind? It was not perfectly clean then. The Tower Square plaza with that disgusting ethnic grocery were not perfectly clean, the shops on Fairfax St were a dumping ground, I could go on and on. |
They tank the schools and bankrupt the locality. |
I was about to say, where's that, it take's a village attitude that liberals believe in. Make it a weekly get-together with your neighbors to clean up trash along those major thoroughfares. |
Falls church city controls its own roads, not VDOT. Call city hall and complain. They have so overbuilt that it’s such a mess now - traffic, unsafe pedestrian crossings, ugly buildings everywhere. The least they could do with all that tax revenue is clean up the streets. |
Nope. Rt. 7 and Rt. 29 are VDOT roads. |
Lower income people litter more. |
Your taxes. Your town probably has other priorities (like free stuff for takers vs. maintaining quality of life for payers) that are not aligned with trash pickup. Drove behind a car the other week exiting 95 and an arm came out the window tossing a bag of fast food garbage. No thought give, just tossed it out the window. Who knows who will ever pick that up on a busy exit ramp.

This is a fact. They also cost FCC much more per student to educate. |
