The King doesn’t choose who he invites for a State Visit. The government decides, and the monarch acts in his capacity as Head of State. The UK has been walking a tightrope, using KC to show public support for Canada while trying to slow the destruction of the “special relationship.”

The threats against Harry are a bizarre spectacle. It’s bread and circuses, and displaying power. At least he has the resources to extract himself. I think Harry and his family would be safer in Europe.
