SW...we are not friends any more

I wish they kept just one free bag. Now everyone is going to be lugging there massive carryons onto the plane

This. IMO the only reason to fly SW is the free bags. I hate their cattle call boarding process and them trying to charge an extra $25 each way for a better boarding pass number.

I'm also looking forward to the option of pre-selecting seats on SW, even if there is a fee. I hate the cattle call line-up--its the biggest reason that I don't prefer SW.

This is so weird to me -- I think the A, B, C grouping is so much more efficient and pleasant.

If my seat is pre-assigned, I'm stuck there. Under the ABC old system, if I get on the plane and see some weirdo in a row, I just walk on by. Of course, someone annoying could still sit next to you, but it's nice to have a little flexibility.

I also like the boarding order just because it prevents the unruly mob.of people at the gate. You stand up for 3 minutes in your spot, then get on the plane. That part is great.

Yes, no gate lice! I find the boarding groups in SW much more orderly than having platinum, gold, emerald, diamond, groups 1-8, etc. and everyone lurking around in a cluster.

Bummed. Skiing was some what affordable with SW.

They were bought by private equity who is running them into the ground and then will sell off the company. Classic move.

SW is no longer the cheapest airline out of DC and they've reduced the amount of direct flights. I've booked several flights this year and SW was the most expensive with crappy layovers. I have flown American and United this year and haven't flown them in well over a decade. Even with baggage fees, they beat SW prices.

The two free checked bags is what kept me coming back. No more. Glad I held off on getting their CC.

I’ve never understood the love for SW.

SWA will also now allow you to choose a seat when booking.

Exactly. They would have been better off charging for carry ons.

Same but for hockey tournaments. Stick bag, gear bag, plus luggage gets expensive if we have to pay per bag.

I wish more airlines would charge for carry ons. It's gotten ridiculous with all of the checking they have to do when boarding and people pushing the limits of what's allowed in the overheads.

If people wouldn't stick their carry on at the front as they walk back to their seats, I would not be a gate louse trying to get to my seat and stash mine overhead.

It’s the change and cancellation policies that have made me a loyal SW customer. I also prefer the open seating as I find the decent seats are all already taken when I book for other airlines.

Are they ending that as well? Agree it was a big plus.
