Do deer destroy the fruit trees?

Squirrels go after persimmons?

Our fig tree is very prolific. We've actually grown three more smaller ones in our yard just by planting a cut limb. They love this environment.

I've had great results with cherries, persimmons, mulberries, and figs. Apples have been a challenge as they get this pest that lays eggs in the immature apples which causes them to drop early so I have to decide between more aggressive spraying or apples. The squirrels also steal them, even ripping through bags.

The smaller ones, yes. I've had an immature tree completely knocked down. So fence around the smaller ones.

I'm the PP who posted about tent caterpillars. We had a bunch of apple trees and IMO apples aren't worth it because they are so susceptible to pests.
