What’s Popular Among Preschoolers

Thanks everyone! We’ll add some Disney books and movies. He has plenty of shared interests with the other kids, but I think what he really needs help with is conversational skills. I’m going to look for a social skills group because I don’t think OT or ABA is going to address it.

+1 what a weird thing to say. Plus, those are popular shows.

Have you seen Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood? Cartoon Mr. Rogers spinoff. It does a good job modeling through different tough life situations that preschoolers encounter and has cute, catchy songs. Has really helped our son navigate being with a babysitter, working on sharing, recognizing anger and working through it.

My kid with ASD really liked Daniel Tiger, even when they got older! I also found that a playlist with popular Disney songs was helpful - lots of their peers knew songs like Let it Go and We Don't Talk About Bruno, and so having familiarity with those was useful for them.
