aix-en-provence or small town near nice?

Last summer we went to Nice, Antibes, Monaco, Eze and Aix-en-Provence. I loved Aix!! I took so many photos there and loved walking around and exploring the village. We stayed a Villa Saint Ange and it was so lovely. The food and service was amazing. The rooms were beautiful. I did not love Antibes and I also found it gritty and at times I did not feel safe. Cap d-antibes is so pretty to walk around...that could be a day trip though. Monaco was fun to walk around. My husband loved Eze. Nice is fine.

Aix is not a village by any means. Much more charming places in Provence by the way.

looking for similar recs for 3 days w/in access to NCE airport. I've never been anywhere in France.

What about Cassis? Might fit the bill. Personally, though, I think you should consider Lourmarin, Bonnieux or Gordes.

Luberon hill towns, swoon. This is a very good option if coming to/from Paris, because they are very close to Avignon, which is a fast nonstop train from Paris.
