I laughed so hard when Baby Billy called the nanny a b and told her to do her “effing job!” We need more of him.

I also laughed when at family dinner, BJ asked to be treated normally so Jesse said to him, “Shut the f up, hot wheels.” Some good moments but overall this season feels a little disjointed.

I have a friend who has worked on this show for years, they give me the dish on everything related to the show.

-Danny dislikes LA and really didn’t want his kids to grow up there. Danny had everyone in cast/crew/writers move out to SC for the show. Danny is the proverbial field marshal in every sense of the term. He’s intensely focused and has a vision.
-HBO basically gives him carte blanche to do anything he wants. His budgets are not huge and his return on investment for HBO is really good.
-Walton Goggins is very friendly with cast and crew. Everyone loves him. The cast all gets along well.
-Apparently Meghan Mullaley was quite the diva on set and problematic.
-The first episode of this season was amazing. It wouldn’t surprise me if that episode wins an Emmy.

I don’t know why this show is not more culturally dominant. It is extraordinary in every sense. I like White Lotus but it can’t hold a candle to the creativity this show exhibits every episode.

Judy and Baby Billy are two of the greatest TV characters ever. Genius creations by both actors.

Agree. I think Jesse and Kelvin round out the siblings trio very nicely though. Jesse is funny too. I love their dynamic. I want more!!!

I agree this season hasn't been as good - but this last episode felt like a return to form.

I love this show so much! But agree with other posters that this season hasn’t been as strong.

I was super disappointed in the first ep, which ignored huge swaths of the civil war and made the confederates seem lovable.

The rest of the season hasn’t been as funny as previous seasons, but I’ll be watching the finale for sure!
