Did you lose all your baby weight from 1 before trying for 2?

I was back in my reg. clothes within 3 mo.

Didn't you stick to the recommended 25-30lb pregnancy weight??

Too bad you didn't get a personality transplant to replace the weight you shed. You belong on the "Bitches Only" thread.

I'm still a few stubborn pounds above my first pre-preg weight, but decided to go for #2 anyway.

The few extra lbs doesn't seem like a lot, but I'm short and on the border of the "overweight" category of the BMI chart. So I'm hoping to keep my weight gain a bit lower this time -- 25 lbs instead of 30 lbs.

Yes, but just barely.

Just because you have a metabolism that works at warp speed, does not mean that the rest of the world does.

Don't you realize the OP could have gained the recommended weight but is having a more difficult time getting it off? Or do you believe we should all be like you?

My SIL gained nearly fifty pounds. She weighed herself when she got home from the hospital and lost about 20 lbs in 2 weeks. July baby = water retention. So if you hold 20 lbs of water as she did, how the hell COULD you stick to 25-30lbs? I'm 38 weeks and have gained about 25, but I have been reallly lucky when it comes to water weight, and I didn't swell at atll!

OP - Sorry for all the bitchy bitches!

You asked a simple, harmless question and it turned into a bitch session. As I said about a week ago - WE NEED A "BITCHES ONLY" FORUM!

Go ahead, get pregnant! Have a healthy pregnancy, do all the right things. Once you deliver your healthy baby, then worry about your weight. If you are determined, it will come off.

I did. But I wouldn't let that be the factor that determined whether I tried to get pregnant again - unless the amount of weight that you're carrying now is so much that it will affect your ability to conceive. If that's the case I'd work on the weight first... if not, let those last 5 pounds be damned.

It's not my personal recommendation it's pretty standard - ask your ob/gyn next time.

I lost 29 lbs in 2 weeks after birth. I was very swollen...couldn't even get a size 10 shoe on my foot. However, I gained a little over 50lbs total. 10months later and I'm still working on the last 17lbs. I don't want to try for #2 until I get those off.

#2 was a surprise, so I didn't lose all the weight (was about 15-20 over starting weight). I gained a ton of weight (50+lbs, depending on where you count from, I had a miscarriage before DS1 and was carrying around 10lbs of souvenir weight from that when I got pregnant with DS1) both times but ended up about the same at the end for both pregnancies (about 10 lbs higher with the first but it was August and I was ridiculously swollen). If you're still nursing, you may drop 10 lbs after you wean - that's what happened to me. Currently I'm about 25 above my pre-pre-pre-pregnancy weight at 4 months post-partum.

Not trying yet for #2 but still have 5 lbs to lose to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight and DD is almost 4 years old!!! I know, that's a long time, but it was a rough first 2 years and the last year I've finally been able to plan so I can eat healthier and make time for working out.

Only if you claim you had a "miracle" baby.

Bad karma for bragging.
