Yes. That is the other option for most rigorous at W-L. The equivalent AP curriculum in terms of rigor to the IB Diploma course load.

Yes but they still have to pick classes for freshman year which is not IB


As far as I could tell, the IB students generally took AP World History

Also, they need to take AP Government in 10th. Government is a state requirement and there's no room for it in the IB sequence. Non IB students often take it in 12th grade

Yes, you have to take the full IB or the equivalent or something like 14 AP during your time in high school to get that check.

Another option is taking a mix of IB and AP classes. For example, this year, my kid is taking 2 HL IB classes and four AP classes.

For what it’s worth, I have 3 recent graduates of WL. They took AP World in 9th and a mix of AP and IB classes. The two who each took a combined 14-15 AP/IB classes were accepted at UVA so I assume that means most rigorous.
