I think they see it just fine, but the goal is to deny, deny, keep doing it and deny (Musk did the same) and eventually people become desensitized to it and accept it as normal.

Musk never denied it. He made Nazi jokes on Twitter instead. The media did the denying for him, trying to tell us it wasn't what we could see with our eyes that it was.

They'll do the same again, and MAGA will once again pretend they aren't a bunch of white supremacists who have destroyed our democracy because they're scared of becoming a minority.

But they pretend it isn't. Many of them are in complete denial and take great offense to being called out as a white supremacist. Those are the ones we might be able to reach. They can no longer deny that they've been voting for Nazis. Maybe they can be shamed into helping us save the republic from what they've empowered because trans people make them feel icky.

There is too much measure in headlines and not just conservative ones. I see a lot of "Bannon accused of/appeared to/seemingly/Did Bannon.../Was it a Nazi salute..." How about saying Bannon did it? Not sure why we need to qualify something that can be seen first hand for what it is.
