Night nanny logistics (sleeping locations, furniture, etc)

Yes they are! Any one expected not to sleep when baby is sleeping is providing awake care and that is very expensive as it should be. If you expect to hire someone who isn’t allowed to sleep when baby sleeps; your baby won’t be either and those types of folks will try to keep that job forever.

We also never had a glider with any of our babies and it was totally fine.

Baby laundry ABSOLUTELY is in a normal
night nanny duty set. Typically they don’t run the wash (because people are sleeping…) but folding/putting away baby clothes is very normal.

OP here. Okay, this makes some sense to me.

People would really be okay with someone going up and down the stairs with their newborn in the middle of the night?

It's her work day. It's not the middle of the night to her.

First she doesn't have to sleep at all, I wouldn't pay a nanny and allow her to sleep. She can sit on your couch with a good book, her cellphone, fb, instagram etc ...

And you could let her give your baby the bottles at any time your baby needs them so you can have a full night of rest.
