My child has a lot of challenges but social skills are a strength, most of the time, so the Autism program wouldn’t be good for him. Would it be reasonable to think that a high scoring kid with an IEP could get a once a day resource class? |

I don't think anyone was suggesting the autism program for your child, just sharing the experience of having a resource class. Resource classes aren't exclusive to the autism program (but apparently the social skills class is).
Whether or not your child could get a resource class depends on what the IEP team decides at his review. And you are part of that team. Having a resource class is a pretty basic feature of special education, so I don't think it should be hard, but again, it's up to the team. Since TMS is your home school, you could always go through the process of enrolling and having the meetings, and if you aren't satisfied with what the school offers, you're not obligated to send him there. |
