No, its a bit different. |
🙄 We know, Susan. There are many upsides to an air fryer, including resurrecting leftovers and leaving a perfect crisp on certain items. Plus, one doesn’t have to wait ages to pre-heat like with the oven. Also doesn’t heat up and doesn’t stink up the whole house (e.g. with fish)—esp a plus in the summer. |
Guess what Captain Obvious, my oven has Bake, Convection Bake and Air Fry modes. |
That’s not wisdom, that’s obliviousness+smugness. |
I haven't tried mine for vegetables or fruits but I use it for French fries and they are so good! |
| I have a toaster oven with air fryer setting, and I don't find it to be very good. If you want good results get a standalone air fryer. |
|
I like it, I mainly roast vegetables, tofu, and chicken. I also use it for frozen food and to recrisp fried yuca. I actually use a baking sheet all the time because the oven is less messy.
Something we learned: take the skin off chicken or the oven gets disgusting. Skinless boneless thighs turn out great. |
+1 A toaster oven with an air fryer function will give you better results than an oven with a convection or “air fryer” function, but they can’t produce anything close to what a good basket-style air fryer can achieve. |
I have wanted one, but it's just another appliance in my already crowded kitchen. I think I will have to live with subpar results for the time being. |
| We’re happy with the air fryer function on our small Breville oven. It comes with an air fryer tray. |
| I'm such a kitchen appliance hater, but the air dryer earned a spot. It is completely different than convection/air fry in an oven. |
