Federal centers accept non federal employees kids if there are no govt families wanting the spot. So they can easily fill any spots left open

Didn't many of them shut down for a very long time during the pandemic? The Silver Spring Bright Horizons at NOAA shut down permanently. I don't think they will do well without feds.

Federal daycares are not staffed by federal employees. They are contracted to a local provider to operate and staff the center on federal property.


The staff at my on-site daycare are federal employees.

I would ask around and start getting yourself on to some other lists. It’s very easy to see a world where that creep Russ Vought seeks to get even for his wife divorcing him by taking it out on all working moms. Project 2025 was already coming for us. Don’t assume your spots are safe or the contracts won’t be canceled on a moment’s notice.
