This is some BS because they send home food (my school did today) and places stay open to give out food (in the past we’ve done this). So no it’s not about the kids. Bowser never got over her ‘embarrassment’ from the time we were off and there was no snow. She needs to be a bit tougher. |
It shouldn't be the norm. Every other district has the decency to post their open/closed status, ESPECIALLY when all other surrounding districts are closed. She can't even be bothered to let people know schools will be open? (If that is the case) It allows parents to stop worrying about whether or not they need to make alternate arrangements. It's the bare minimum of decency. |
If her skin is that thin, she has no business in politics. It's more embarrassing she refuses to make responsible calls based on one incident. Other districts have made bad calls when it hasn't snowed. People were angry for all of 10 seconds before finding something else to be angry about and moved on. |
THIS. |
But if you just assume it's open unless you hear otherwise, you're set. Who cares if the other districts are closed? You know D.C. is open unless they say they're not. Easy. |
It’s like having no alarm and knowing you have to wake up at 7am. You know you’re supposed to wake up at 7:00 so no need for any kind of signal…you hear nothing, you know it’s 7am wake up time. |
What was the point of the text AND email today? I could see with my own eyes DCPS was gonna be open. |
You're missing the entire point. She doesn't have the .25 seconds it takes to post schools are open like every other district does. Just because you expect less doesn't mean that is what you deserve. DCPS is like being in an abusive relationship. |
+1 My kids were on FARMS. They would not eat 95% of what was offered, it was rubbery and disgusting. |
I guess I don't think it's expecting less or being abused if the city doesn't specifically tell us that school is open on a day that it's otherwise ... scheduled to be open. |
