I know one student at Purdue for eng. That student did not get into UMD (a resident). |
Please choose UIUC over boilermakers. IL better. |
UIUC engineering is not easy to get into as well. 1500+ gets you a shot at it but not guaranteed. |
Ha! You wish. 😁 |
Is race actually on the application? |
US News and World report ranks Purdue at #8 and UMDCP at #16. https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/engineering-doctorate?_sort=rank&_sortDirection=asc What criteria are you using? |

My son had a 34 ACT last year. Deferred and then rejected (OOS). |
UMD not more prestigious. Purdue 8th best undergraduate university in the US. UMD is 16. |
Unsure about this year, but there were alot of 1400s getting into Purdue on Reddit. Seemed to be more likely than 1500+ scorers. |
For the West Lafayette campus? |
I think it all depends. My child got in with a 33 ACT and had strong rigor. Sometimes its just a numbers game and remember that your child is being compared against their peers so it really depends on what school they are at. |
