Does it help to call Members of Congress for other states?

They don’t care if you are not a constituent.

They don't care nor have the time if you are not a constituent. They represent their district, not DC. Your efforts are best represented donating.

How do they know if you are not a constituent? If I call with my NC area code, will I pass the screen?

We asked for addresses from everyone. If you're willing to lie do you but honestly why degrade yourself to voice an opinion? They're not your legal representative.

I was wondering that too. Can I call on behalf of my red-state blue-voting grandmother using her address? I still have an area code from there.

There are plenty of people to call if you live in Virginia. VA-2 (Jen Kiggans) is in competitive districts with a significant number of federal employees. The number of federal employees residing in her district is 2x her winning vote margin in 2024. VA-1 (Rob Whitman) is a close second as he a has a significant share of federal employees residing in his district. Call them in you live in Virginia or encourage your friends and family from VA to do the same.

Why can't grandma call? She is presumably retired and has lots of free time?

She has dementia and isn’t with it enough to call. She lives alone (that’s a whole other topic to post).

OK, but I don't live in Virginia. I live in DC. -OP

Call anyway. The more you are tying up their staff, the less they can spend on their own constituents, and the more ignored their constituents are, the more pissed off they will be.

Oh, call ours. She’s only 94
