Europe. So easy to travel to new cities on the weekends.

I studied abroad in Australia and had an amazing time- but, I was in Sydney, not Brisbane. Went up to Queensland for the great barrier reef, rainforests, etc though and it was gorgeous. I went to college in a rural area so living on my own in a big city was new for me, and it was life changing. Sydney is an amazing city with so many easily accessible beaches right in the city, too. I don't agree that it's "America Light" except obviously we both speak English.

Brisbane isn't great. Like Tallahassee or something.

Curious. Understand that not speaking the language introduces interesting challenges. But doesn’t it limit your ability to interact with and meet local people?

Europe for ability to travel to so many different cultures within one continent from Ireland to Sweden to Albania to Poland

Europe- more history, different cultures, languages, food.

Have you been recently? Qld has changed dramatically. Brisbane is a diverse and vibrant city with universities and the economy on the rise.

Fair enough. My view may be out of date.
