OP here. Thank you for the reminder! I'll have my husband check!

Best of luck, OP, and take care.

This. You can enter your insurance, what you want to see them for, and your zip code. Up will pop a list of profiles for everyone in the network. Some won't be taking new patients, email ALL of the others who's profile you think you will click with. Some won't get back to you, others will - see one that will

OP here. Thank you for the information! I appreciate it!

OP here. Thank you for the information! I will check them out!

Hi OP, I had a great experience with Healthy Foundations:

https://healthyfoundationsgroup.com/

They were highly recommended to me by a counselor at Children’s National. I had a terrible pregnancy and HF got me through it. Also on Carefirst and it was fully covered. Good luck.

I was in your shoes 15 years ago and got very low cost help through the Washington psychoanalytic institute. I have no idea if they still provide that.

All the best. You will get to the other side of this.

There are a ton of online therapy platforms now that can probably get you started quickly. it looks like Carefirst has its own one called Close Knit.

Postpartum wellness. They take insurance. Good luck.

I think a perinatal psychologist and psychiatrist will serve you best - for that try 5 Trimesters Clinic at GW or Georgetowns women’s mental health group (the one that was already suggested here). I think the Georgetown group is good - saw them years ago. PACE moms is also a great group for general social connection and support.

You can do a search on psychology today for therapists who do telehealth and take BCBS. I found my therapist that way.

In terms of practices, there’s not a ton of groups that take BCBS (I did an extensive search recently) but Bethesda counseling and mosaic therapy services in Kensington take BCBS. Orchard mental health does, too, and all do telehealth. All in MD. They may have waitlists.

Orchard also does medication management, they have a team of psychiatric Nurse practitioners so it’s not quite the same as seeing a perinatal psychiatrist, but it’s an option and can get you seen quickly and more inexpensively than seeing someone like Barbara Byers who was charging 550 for an initial consult when I last checked.

I’m the PP and I second them, we saw a pediatric psychiatrist for one of my kids and she was very good. Their admin is kind of slow and annoying though so be warned.
