My kid is a biracial current student and from what I can tell all students are held to a high standard with high expectations. they have a number of non-black friends at the school who all seem quite comfortable there too

The dress code policy drives me a bit nuts but it's teaching my kid what works in different settings.

It’s not that there’s “so much focus” on Black excellence, in like a top-down or directed way. There just IS Black excellence, in the history and present body of the school, and you can see it. I’m not PP but that’s what I would mean by “normed.” White parent with white enrolled student.
