OP surprised to see this thread again. Vanguard and I officially broke up yesterday…finally!

The service does not get good until you are Flagship. We call and they pick up on the second or third ring. |
Because it is there where you're most likely to see the highest returns after expenses, assuming you invest intelligently and prudently. The higher fees charged at competitors are a meaningful and avoidable drag on returns. |
We had a horrible experience at Vanguard too. We are trying to consolidate our accounts and rolled an IRA from another brokerage firm to Vanguard. Vanguard deposited the funds into the wrong account and it was a nightmare getting it moved. |
+1 I've been with Vanguard over 20 years and I think I called customer service twice. Everything was fine, but even if they sucked, I really don't care much. |
