I am from the Midwest and Birkenstocks have been a staple of my teen sons’ wardrobe, along with many of their peers, for several years. My DSs will usually wear them with socks but are fine going no socks in the summer. I’m so used to the trend at this point that I don’t think anything of it.
I have noticed that the Birkenstock clogs are starting to become more popular among teen boys. My older DS brought a pair to take to college this past fall, and my younger DS wants a pair. I know my older son appreciates the versatility. |
| This is how I wear them too haha |
| I love the clogs. I wear them to work (with socks! But maybe I am trending toward the 80 year old water aerobics ladies more than the teens. Good for them. |
| I see more clogs than sandals. I think they are replacing crocs in the teen boy wardrobe, which is an upgrade. |
Yep that's hysterical! |
| The trend I am seeing is crewcuts. All the floppy curls are being shaved off! |
| I rocked Birkenstocks with socks back in the 90s. |
Definitely an upgrade. Glad that teen boys have moved on to something far more stylish (and frankly comfortable). |
| No one is getting a perm!! what are you all crazy people talking about. |

I saved my Birkenstocks from the 90s, but I haven't worn them since then. I can't seem to part with them for some reason.
I cringe because the socks with Birkenstocks was my high school outfit but it really doesn't look good in my yearbook photos. |
Huh? Half my son’s friend group have perms. I can assure you the majority of male Asian boys don’t have curly hair. |
