Do you share your location with your teen or do you only have their location?

We share but I don't think kids care/look at it. I look at theirs all the time since they are driving teens. Very useful so I don't bug them!

We have the Life360 app. We all share , 2 adults and 1 tween.
I have nothing to hide.

The whole family is on life360. College freshman, HS kid and both parents.

I wish the HS kid would look at it! Won't look at family calendar either, ha ha.

Neither. Not driving yet, but using public transport daily.

No. Never. I won’t share with my husband either. I’m not sure why; but I hate the idea. I know my mother was very anxious and always needed to know where I was, when I’m coming back, call when I get there, etc. It felt so paternalistic; it annoyed the fell out of me. I’m guessing that’s the origin, but, that’s a no from me, dawg.

Both parents share as do sophomore and junior in HS. I do not use it 24/7 but I might use it if, for example, I want to know what bus my daughter caught so I know when she’ll be home.

Similar to other posters I sometimes wish my kids would use it more to track me. The number of times I get asked where I am when the information is readily available on both a shared calendar and through location tracking feels much more than necessary.

I share (find my iphone) with DH and DS17 and DH shares with me. It's on at all times.

We have never required DS to share with us so... he doesn't. At times, I've asked him to share - when he first started driving, if he's going to be out late, etc. So, he shares on a temporary basis when asked.

Me and my 2 daughters share. Their dad does not - not that he wouldn’t but he can’t handle it. He would be looking and getting on their case so he’s better off not knowing. Him and I used to share and I had to remove that lol.

We have Find my Friends and my two kids and I share location.

DH isn’t in on the action bc (a) he doesn’t need to know when I’m sneaking in a heavenly by myself, and (b) his anxiety would keep him glued to the screen when the kids are out and about.

lol, heavenly LUNCH by myself. My typo leads a little bit to the imagination!

That’s why I don’t share with my husband. I’d be up to nothing but he’d be pouty bc I was at my best friends house still when I said I was coming home. He’s too anxious to have this kinda info and I don’t like to be controlled.

I have my kids locations and they have mine but they never look at mine unless seeing how close I am bc I’m picking them up, and even though I check their location I refrain from bringing it up with them unless it’s pretty serious/late night bc I don’t want them to know this or they will start turning it off or worse leaving their phones places like some teens I know when they sneak out

Life 360 has notifications, vs find my friends you have to consciously check the app. My oldest had a life 360 with her freshman year friend group and deleted it bc it caused so much drama, but when the same friends moved to find my friends it wasn’t like that. The notifications just encourage constantly checking if and it tells you everywhere that person has been that day, which seems creepy. Find my friends is just real time so check it if you need to but that’s it

We all have access to each other on “Find my Phone.”

I share with my son and follow both of my children’s locations. This to keep track of the actual phone not their whereabouts. Sure I’ve looked a few times, mostly to find out how far away from the house they are at dinner time (I don’t like to call when they are driving) but I certainly don’t look regularly or when they say they are going somewhere.
