Reading a lot not helping MAP R score

Anonymous
Your kid is doing great. The MAP-R is a comprehension test so reading and discussing more complex literature is important for higher scores. Read news articles and scientific articles with your student and discuss what the implications are. Additionally being able to work with figurative language in poetry becomes important to reach higher scores.

Well, how comes his score is not improving as much as I hope so. His last score was 201 in the fall 2024. Am I supposed to test him like questionnaire after reading?

Good job on the reading! Keep it up!

Just like any stupid assessment test out there whether it be MAP, dumbbells (no that's not a typo for dibels), SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, it's is only about knowing how to take that test. It has nothing to do with knowledge or intellectual. So take a deep breath and carry on reading and reading with kid.
