Show your child how to take a screenshot on their chromebook:
https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/10474268?hl=en and how to save that to their Google Drive (if that isn't the default). Tell them to do this when they see the screen with numbers at the end. Tell them that it is OK if they miss doing that, but that you would like to see it if they can remember. Then log in to their Google account from home to view the screenshot. Don't discuss the numbers unless they ask, and, if they do, let them know that the school usually takes a long time to send the information to families, and remind them that all they should be doing is making a reasonable effort to show what they've learned to help the teacher understand where they are and how they might be helped best. If pressed, note that such numbers are inexact/pretty variable from test to test and that it's a measure of how much they've learned instead of how smart they are. If pressed further, note that sometimes the school uses the test to make other decisions. Be honest about any of your own concerns. |
