How are the roads in NOVA? Anyone had to drive?

We are in North Arlington and can't get the 6 blocks to Wilson. Carlin Springs is 3 blocks but up a hill. Streets have 6 inches snow in the mushed parts. Need 4wd. We don't have 4wd.

Surprized it hasn't been cancelled, flights were cancelled for much less a week or so ago, but if it hasn't been cancelled now I'm sure it's a go. Stay safe and if you get a chance please update us on the road conditions.

Now it is delayed by an hour. There were six flights DCA to were I'm going today: 4/6 were cancelled (three scheduled before mine, one the last of the day), one (leaving before mine) still says it is on time, and mine is now delayed by an hour. So I'm packed and ready to go. Will update with road conditions when I get to the airport if I can.

Update:

My cul de sac street in Vienna hadn't been plowed but I was able to drive over the snow fine in my SUV (and someone else already had). Once I got out to Trap from my street driving was not a problem all the way to the airport.

Thank you PP for the update!

Safe travels!

Ugh. PP here. Freaking flight is now cancelled. The one 2 hours earlier than mine got out. Mine did not. So, 5/6 flights on UA from DCA to my destination cancelled today, and I was on the only one that wasn't cancelled way in advance and thus had people at the darned gate. Apparently they are now closing the runways due to ice. Now I have to get my checked luggage (I know, I know) and hope to get out at 6am tomorrow.

Yep. Such is my dedication to the client, lol.

I went out in N. Arlington around 3:30 to give a ride to DH to pickup his car from the mechanic. Main roads are fine, but saw an Audi not be able to manage on a plowed and flat side road.

They had a competition to name the snow plows in Arlington.

I'm thrilled to see that one of them is called Plowy McPlowface in the traditional of Boaty McBoatface in the UK.

A lot more plowing seems to have happened overnight. With a high around 30, some sun, and more road traffic, the major roads are going to get a lot better today.
