+1. It will be frigid. Plan accordingly. The best part of our spring break trip to the GC was arriving back at our sunny hotel pool in Scottsdale.

Average March temps at the South Rim are 55/35. Warmer if you hike down into Canyon. Also warmer in late Match.

That doesn't sound frigid.

Just last year, highs in Sedona and GC were 30’s and 40’s and windy during spring break, which was the last week of March. It was not fun.

And looking back to April 2023, there were days with the highs in the 80s. It's just very unpredictable so you need to be flexible, bring clothes for different weather, and potentially adjust your plans the week prior. Like if you plan for 2 nights staying at the rim, and the weather turns out to be frigid, I might plan to arrive just before bed the first night and leave right after breakfast after the second night, with one full day there to bundle up, see the sights by driving to different overlooks, visit the NPS Visitor's Center and the very nice gift shop selling the work of Native artisans, and maybe do an indoor ranger talk about the geology or wildlife. Whereas if the weather is nice, I'd get there earlier on the first day or stay later the third day, so you have time for a bike ride or horseback ride and can do an evening outdoor ranger program.
