Where in Tuscany as homebase for day trips?

We loved Modena. It was easy to park in town and do day trips.

We stayed at a Radda in Chianti AirBNB in Tuscany with a car rental for part of our Italian trip. We did several day trips from that location. It was a former farm turned AirBNB to make a profit.

I based myself in Siena. I did not want a car, due to the challenges of driving and parking, plus my desire to see the scenery and go wine tasting. Therefore, I took two full day tours to the hill towns, which left from Siena. They included rare opportunities:like dinnner with a family on their farm. There were only 8 participants, and the guide. It worked out very well.
