| Neither has a pipeline to The Street to compare with that other school… |
| For an arts/humanities kid, Wesleyan |
| They're both great. Wesleyan is ranked a bit higher and has more name recognition, but Lafayette is solid. Depends on other factors – particular majors, financial aid, and that very personal feeling of "fit." |
Ok that made me LOL |
wesleyan has a dual degree 3-2 engineering program with dartmouth CIT and columbia- that blows away a school like Lafayette |
| Neither? WASP+Bowdoin +Middlebury are really the only decent lacs |
No one actually does 3-2 programs. It defeats the purpose of going to a liberal arts college, admission isn’t guaranteed, there’s lacking financial aid, etc. what in the word is CIT? Do you mean Caltech? Caltech doesn’t allow 3-2 students in unless a Caltech student leaves, so most years they accept 0 people. Also engineering doesn’t run by prestige so no, Lafayette is getting “blow[n] away.” |
| These schools are dramatically different op. What major are you looking for? |
ding ding! found the middlebury booster! pls folks middlebury is mid tier |
Dp but Middlebury is one of the top 3 lacs for Econ… |
Another advisor. Agree. Both great schools and lovely campuses. Each unique with many different aspects in terms of campus, curriculum, financial aid, strength areas, etc. |
They do offer these, but they don't "blow away" Lafayette. You clearly don't know much about engineering programs. Few students are interested in the 3-2. Lafayette would be a much stronger draw for a potential engineer. |
Dual degree=we don’t have engineering so transfer to Dartmouth after two years and pay for five years of undergrad! That’s not an engineering program |
I'd add Bucknell. |
Bucknell is too jock, frat bro centered. |
