POTTY TRAINING HELL!! 2 1/2 year old son won't announce he has to pee or poop

PP, taking your child to the bathroom at regular intervals is potty training them. Once they start going on their own, the are potty trained. You gotta start somewhere.

Yes, but you do not put them in underwear and pronounce them potty trained which is what some posters seem to be talking about (as in, my child was potty trained at 22 months but I had to take him every 2-3 hours for the next five months - umm, that is not potty trained). I have an older child that was potty trained at 31 months old, she was given regular opportunities to go and did very well in some areas from an early age, never pooped in a diaper or pull up after about 20 months. Nonetheless, I did not take her out of pull ups nor did I describe her as "potty trained" until she was in control and would ask to go when she needed to.
