Get her a cute rain coat from here

| Are you seriously anonymously humblebragging with the excuse that you can't figure out winter clothing? |
Was just about to post that this is the most hilarious and weird humblebrag I've ever seen. Best part was choosing to post it in the College forum instead of in Fashion where at least the underlying question makes sense. Imagining a whole series of threads in this forum to match it: "Tips on best sushi restaurants in Cambridge, Massachusetts? DD is moving there next fall and likes to go for sushi for her birthday in October. Trying to plan ahead! Ah! So stressful!" "Anyone know what shoes are best for the cobblestones in Cambridge, UK? DS usually wears sneakers but he's only been there for his interview and we are trying to figure out if he'll need a whole new shoe wardrobe starting in September. Just absolutely overwhelmed." |

Yeah, I’d get more waterproof items. I was visiting my daughter at her college just north of Providence in MA at thanksgiving and they were having cold rain while I was there. I don’t know if she’s even put on her coat I got her yet. Most of the kids were just wearing sweats, no coats.
See if you can find a good waterproof backpack and/or some waterproof boots with a removable warm lining for when it’s cold. I splurged on a backpack from Portland Gear, but I follow some of those dorm mom pages on Facebook and Gymshark is half the price and sleek looking. I think I got my daughter’s boots at Target. |
| My LA kid just got in ED and we are wondering about clothes, naturally. But we figured he'd get there during August and would ask kids from Massachussetts or wherever what he should wear for winter, and we'd order it and have it sent, etc. |
| It's windy in Rhode Island. The Ocean State with sailing. |
This Also, I'd go for college gear over practical. Brown bookstore can mail to you. Or, if you know someone there, they could pick up and bring home. If you really want practical, and active wool jacket can be worn alone or under things, water proof boots -- yes! Also, maybe slippers with a rubber soul to schlep around the dorm. Congrats! |
