I always just do dipped rice krispy treats (dip the bars in chocolate and add some sprinkles) and they do really well.

+1 rice crispy treats. Also brownies and fudge.

We've had mini banana bread do well, which surprised me, but muffins and cupcakes typically don't sell. Small or irregular looking cookies don't sell, people prefer big flat round cookies if they buy cookies.

Cupcakes are hard to carry around. I think people like things they can easily eat on the go or carry around without worrying about it getting smushed. So cookies, bars, mini breads, seem to travel well.

Yep, I don't want to lug around a frosted cupcake. I want things that are bagged and i can toss in a bag or in my car.

Cupcakes and things with frosting tend not to do well.

A friend's M&M cookies are usually the first to go. Salted caramel brownies are a big hit as well. The last bake sale had blueberry muffins and those sold out pretty fast too.

Our school requires us to put everything in individual bag so cupcakes are near impossible unless you want to spend a dollar plus on each to put them in a container.

How could you throw things out!!

You have clearance sale boxes like a cookie walk does and towards the end of the sales you sell a pick what you want box for a small sum.

Our bake sales at school events are donation based so no need for clearance. Some kids give 50 cents and take 5 things. We always have leftovers. We leave what’s left for teachers but inevitably some stuff gets thrown out.
