Are you the person making up your own parking lot rules then giving the finger when nobody knows what you’re doing? Oh well. Keep circling that lot looking for a spot to back in. |
You don't make any sense. I pull in, no problem. I back out, no problem. But I guess you're one of those weirdos who thinks it's hard or dangerous to back out of a parking space? |
Car passed the spot and loses out. Them's the rules. |
I would not think someone would back up. You pass the spot, you lose it. |
How close were you? Was the car in front worried about backing into you? If you had waited longer, at some point he would have reversed and moved toward backing in. So I bet you didn’t wait as long as you thought before you pulled in.
Yes it’s better to wait before the spot. But you were still wrong to steal it when he had his blinker on. |
The blinker isn’t dibs on cars parked behind you, only in front. |
The blinker loses meaning when you pull ahead of where you want to go. I'd bet that driver was a Maryland driver, due to their inability to use a blinker properly. And of course, the backing in idiocy. |
Be glad he didn’t have a gun or damage your car after. The unofficial rules are one thing, but personal safety isn’t worth sacrificing for a parking space. |
No one was right or wrong. Law of the jungle applies. People will get offended. Tempers will flare. Just make sure you stay as calm as possible.
|
Backing into a spot in that scenario would not be expected. How was OP to know that was the plan to avoid a conflict? |
If you've passed the spot, it's not your spot. Period. Doesn't matter how you plan to enter said spot. |
It’s first one in the spot, blinkers don’t count. Depending on the direction a car backs out another car that was not first can easily slip in. If I see an opening I take it. Life is too short for blinkers and waiting. |
This sounds right to me! |
+1 I always assume a car with a blinker on is waiting for a car in front of them not behind them. |
One day you may play chicken with the wrong person. |
