Getting to Greece for less

And then you have to get to Toronto. Sorry folks, it isn't 2017 anymore.

This is our plan for next summer. In our case, my ILs live in northern NJ so we can just drive up the day before and they’ll drop us at Newark for our flight. But the savings would be worth it even if we needed a hotel.

I wouldn't have thought to look at Newark---but the nonstop flights I am looking at to Europe were almost 2K out of Dulles, 1K out of Newark. For 4 people that is probably worth the hassle.

Tickets are like $918 on play in June and July. That’s not bad at all.

They are also cutting flights to US airports for next year and May drop BWI and Dulles altogether

We have family in NJ, so this is a bit easier for us than others - but we have drive from Fairfax & flown out of NYC area airports.

I just looked and United has direct flights for about $2k SAS has connecting flights for about $1300

SAS is 900 a person in April, so we're going then instead. Prices go much lower (than June-July) in August but heat and crowds, right? Just try booking on SAS right now. Sigh (site down, app not flexible).

OP here. We booked today for April instead on SAS through CPH. Just under 800 each (so $2,300 for the three of us).

Nice price! Should be a nice time to be there.

Crete should be more open in April, and I believe Santorini has some resorts open as well. Just be aware that Greek Easter and Roman Catholic Easter are the same this year so if you're going over spring break it'll be both very cool and that weekend there will probably be a lot less open.
